I have a game idea that I will start working on this fall, if anyone wishes to hear it or help me design react to this post,
@rentier this is the only user who has even been mentioned in association with coding, so I’m tagging you to ask if you would know anything about game engines/ common practices for devs
I already have lots of unity experience and trained in java , c++,

But honestly , it’s not about the end result or anything and no I’m not moral fagging
Now that I can decide what to do with my time I just want to embark on a little project to test how competent I am
Plus, I always wanted to make something like a game or song that can help me to relieve stress. Then thinking more on that, I started thinking about how much fun I would have fitting my own little eccentric details into the product design.

When I was younger I was making a game in RPG Maker, but then gave up on it. The only thing that remains from it is the soundtrack, but it's very cringe so it's been banished never to be seen or heard again.

I already have the basic design down in my head for the premise and the first two levels
I was just planning to make a conversation for those who reacted to post the ideas in, don’t wanna make a thread about it and change my mind later

What genre is it? I was planning to make a shmup but forgot about it. Do you have any experience with Godot or Raylib? If you can make your own engine I think it'd be the preferred method
