I guess I could have had the chance to find a group like that in the early 2000s, because RPG games were popular and I was well-situated among older tech people. But I never expressed interest, and so was never invited.
Uni was a flop, no one played DnD there (physics degree for a second). No one spoke English well back then either, so exposure to American niche entertainment was very surface level.
I'm sure younger people gather in "interesting" cafes and play tabletops now, maybe I should creep on them. It's gonna be awkward, but oh well.
