Debating whether to buy this and play with a friend. Is it too autistic? I want a good strategy game, but don't know if i'll like this.

Kinda. Playing with other people seems really annoying in my experience. i guess I can try it out again and I like the After the End mod
And i dont really like Vanilla

The way they make these games is they feel incomplete if you don't have the DLCs so yeah I get it

I love the DLCs. I actually think Vanilla is really good now with all DLCs but its just not my taste because I like my own Continent and I find some religions in ATE more relatable

Dude, just get it when its one sale and get the DLC on sale as well. Steam has a good return policy, give it a shot. I played it and its not bad at all.
