Theres places online where they are looking for bandmates but this might not be vital to independence. People in bands usually depend on their gf and bandmates.

You need to only talk to people that you can admit to them that you are socially retarded.

People often poke and prod people they dont understand, You need to explain to them so they understand and not do that. Some people are insidious and you owe no explanation. Revealing to them your weakness just makes you more vulnerable. You need to identify the right people to confide in and distance yourself from those you cant.
