You can't "kill" the ego, better said, you see through the illusion of self to observe that it is a part of you! It is not the complete package in other words. It doesn't have to define you completely. This story that you tell yourself about who you are, even though it is a part of you, it shouldn't have the power to define who you are to become or what you should do.
