On the one hand, forum activity and posting has spiked over the past two days.

However, it also incentivises low effort high post spamming to get to the top of the leaderboard rankings, while also potentially discouraging users from participating in or starting more concentrated, effortposting and discussion, which was partly what the forum was founded for.

I am thinking of disabling the post count for the Tartarus subforum to disincentivise this kind of postmaxxing while encouraging more users to participate in more measured, serious discussion on the forum.

Yes, events are still something I'm trying out and experimenting on this forum. I don't think there is an existing addon which tracks the amount of reputation per month, while the 'Top Posters of the Month' is something that is available and easily implementable.

Something to do with the Halloween rewards. It incentivizes low effort content.

I’d personally have handed them out to random active users, similar to how some trick or treaters get snickers bars for Halloween while the next one gets lame utz pretzels.

I stopped post-maxxing because of this today. I was also upset that my 2 threads for my 100k goal was locked.

Posts from Tartarus no longer count towards the leaderboard. So you will need to put some higher effort into your posts on the other sections.
