I believe that this is the kind of thing that modern society want us to believe. This thought is valid if you have a full nihilistic and materialistic worldview. It depends on us to find a purpose worth living for past our young ages.

Modern society is shaped to prioritise the youth and wait for the burden known as the old to perish.

This relationship between such age demographics is always existing know matter the societal structure.

You are alive and exist to others in your prime.

Also i agree with finding your own purpose. This matters at any age.
