I am not sure who was it, maybe not alex jones but someone else. Surely the one who popularized the false choice of globalism vs nationalism was alex jokes.
I was reasoning about these concepts, and why so many fascists and right wingers were critical of WEC and their vision of global governance. Why would a fascist dislike it?
I mean, the fascists I talked to on the internet are critical of democracy, liberalism and human rights and depending on their level of preparation on fascist materials they can also criticize identity, personhood and the possibility of developing a new personality template. Instead, if they have learned the fascist theories well, they will say the state is the only reality source of identity.
But not all fascists study their own theories, so often they simply criticize liberalism, because is a fashionable thing.
I was thinking what it meant fascism in my country (italy), it meant the fascists had to invent out of nowhere myth of a nation and national narratives. But they didnt exist, they were not real and they probably felt artificial at the time. Italy always struggled unifying all these different peoples, who speak different tongues and come from different places.
A fascist ideology presents this "nation" myth, and you can easily see its almost jacobinism, its an indentify forced down your throat. The globalist project instead has no need to invent an identity and myth of a nation. For example I seen local wine guild, they commerce in australia thanks to global commerce routes, they dont need to obtain a cosmopolitan identity, they can consider their own city the place where they plan the operation. They can travel to america, australia and japan and go back maintaining the same local identity they had before.
I seen people who didnt even learn english, or they tried and failed, last minute. Because their local guild had australia dealings, and they had to learn english in 1 week.
In terms of identity, i think globalism grants you more freedom to keep your own, and does not needs myth of a nation. But in term of centralization of power, I think globalism wins as well, centralizing more than fascism would be able to do.
Except for these observations, I can see that WEC has access to newer theories and they reframe democracy around topics of responsibility and expertise and institutional rules. I am sure theres an enormous amount of communist infiltration in these structures, but the principles of WEC overall are not distant compared to the ones a fascist is supposed to follow if he was reading his own theories.
