Monkeytype | A minimalistic, customizable typing test
The most customizable typing test website with a minimal design and a ton of features. Test yourself in various modes, track your progress and improve your speed.
I used to think I was a fast typist, but it turned out that I was actually quite slow at 70-80 WPM. Thus I began to learn touch typing, which is when you use all your fingers to type. It took a bit of muscle memory adjustment at first, but I already made some good progress considering that it's only been a few months, and I now average at >105 WPM. I even seem to have developed a habit where I would randomly and impulsively go on monkeytype (and other similar websites) and just mash on my keyboard as a way to meditate and clear my mind. It's such a braindead and low-effort activity that it perfectly suits my lazy self.
I think I might hit 140WPM in no time at this rate, that is unless I end up breaking my wrists and getting carpal tunnel first.
