Many people think Hitler was stupid for continuing to fight even after the tide turned against him, I think it was noble though. He knew it was over so he said "why not destroy as much shit as I can on the way out?"

you can do that, sure. but it sacrifices external gains for internal gains... our current post-industrial society isn't built on morals, it's built on what technically works but isn't as ethical/noble
