[Elysian Fields]

A color switcher has now been added to the main theme, allowing you to change the color scheme and background of the forum

The Twilight, Crimson and Verdant themes were essentially just small color and background variations of the same theme, and have now been replaced by the color switcher for your convenience. New Yellow, Gray and Pink colors have also been added.

The Basic themes now have a light/dark mode switch, allowing you to switch conveniently between the two.

These cosmetic changes are part of a larger suite of improvements coming soon

That's basically an intended feature. The transition is there to accommodate the changes taking place while active.

Flashing lights do be annoying, I switched to Athens theme for the time being.

Maybe it's machine dependent, since not everyone is annoyed? My laptop is old and the white screen lasts for like 0.5 seconds...

Yeah, it's a change that might not be for everyone, but some will get used to it. The add-on is a script which changes the CSS when it's active. This change isn't instantaneous, which explains why the transition is there.
