I mean, at the biological level it doesn't make any sense to develop an obsession for a girl. This is obvious some sort of neurosis created by the mind in order to not confront reality. I really think that it must be based on unconscious projections made onto the object of obsession. There is no really other way to explain this. You are not investing in the actual woman. You are investing in a phantom. That's why it is dangerous.
