I was once going to study psychiatry or psychology.
Looking at all the deranged freakshows you get in neurodivergent spaces (usually fat, blue-haired, feminazi, left-wing women, or trannies) I'm glad I didn't.
I'm still, of course, interested in the field. But would I work in it? Hell fucking no. I mostly like reading about hikikomori/social withdrawal these days - I would like to work in that field, helping them. I have the right lived experiences as well as the right qualifications to do so. Usually it's just considered social work. That's about the extent of "psychological"-related fields I'd work in, however.
I think it's safe to say I made the right life choices in deciding not to study psychology or psychiatry at my university, though.

As interesting as the field is, I have to admit it all went downhill after women became the majority of people working in it.

Maybe our opinions are just opinions, but look at a few lists of some of the worst paying jobs, and almost every time you'd find psychology hanging in there.
