Why dont people do their own research and come to their own subjective conclusion about their lifestyle and not preach it to other people since human lives differ so much in this modern age.
The mere existence of relegion in thus day and age is confusing to me, since the "potential lifestyle" of individuals living even in the same area could be extremely different. I believe religion was a way of uniting people with congruent lifestyles based on their beleif in a common "God". But that doesn't make sense now since a "congruent" lifestyle which is inclusive to every individual is impossible.

All of us could make our own well researched and planned set of principles which can be flexible according to our personal needs and goals (which can change with time) and not "preach" these "ideologies" but rather encourage other people to create their own?

My personal ideology is "do what I think is right", and that is actually considerably hard to do since it takes a certain level of discipline to follow your true instincts.

Well what if someone thinks rape and murder is right?

The idea in my thread only works for mentally sane individuals.

Anyone with a brain wouldn't sit down and think for hours trying to come up with an ideology to follow and go "that's it! rape and murder!"
It's an extreme example but I still think my point stands, I mean objectively according to your idea, a nutjob like I presented in my example wouldn't be inherently wrong.

Agreed. And that's probably one of the reasons why people might disagree with my thread. But, I assure you, if everybody else were as smart and high iq as me, world peace wouldn't just be a dream :feelshah:
Just be intelligent theory

How does IQ = morality? hitler was pretty smart but he isn't exactly a paragon of virtue, same thing with stephen hawking, the man was on epstein island.

I was joking about the iq part. It was sarcasm. The "if everybody was as intelligent as me" thing. I don't think im extremely smart or anything. But I feel that most people would not come to objectively wrong conclusions about what to follow if they give enough time and thought to it. Just a theory though.

I get your point but again, there's still the possibility that someone could unironically believe that that is the unequivocal truth in their *own* beliefs, so one must ask the question: is he inherently wrong? under the guise of your idea of subjective morality.

Yeah man I agree. Like I said, it's just a theory and most probably won't be/can't be put into practice.
I'm gonna go eat lunch, I haven't eaten anything at all and it's almost 3 PM.

Ambivalent on the topic. I'm not anti-religious despite not being one myself.
I wouldn't say im anti religious too, even though it may seem like it.

I respect religion, I just don't find the whole "preaching" thing very amusing. Of course it's completely fine if youre religious but there's no need to spread it imo.
