Here's a sketch I made on my phone from a year ago. I suppose it's a bit of a self-portrait now that I'm looking at it again. It's shitty. I was never good at drawing, but started practicing for a bit before I stopped. I want to start again. But, I just haven't had the energy this past year or so. Guess a bit depressed, but not just that. It's like I can't see or feel like I did before, like I'm always looking past/through what's in front of me. Hard to explain.
Anyway.
Feel free to share any drawings or sketches and your thoughts about them or anything, really. I'm just projecting into the digital void.

That's so good. I teally should try drawing again. Drawing in 3 dimensions without it getting wonky is hard. Guess I should practice drawing real people and shapesView attachment 14052
Thanks! You should! Drawing is a great mental exercise, and a wonderful creative outlet :)

Do you ever do any life drawing? I used to every weekend go to a life drawing season for 3 hours. I like the stuff I'm seeing of yours, do you only stick to digital?

I never did any real life drawing. I can see your drawings have so much depth and detail. When I was practicing I would use images and try to do gesture drawing for about an hour or so. It's hard to figure our where to put and omit lines to capture the details of things, particularly facial features.

I've only done digital so far. I like being able to mess around with the colors, but doing shading is really hard with the digital brushes. and it's tough to control the pen on the tablet surface. I wanted to eventually be able draw characters and try to make 3d models of them.

I think I'll try to practice gesture drawing for an hour each day to try to get back into it. It's just been like a year, so I'm probably very shit now.

This should help maybe? When I was younger I started only doing fantasy and anime, I did eventually move on in HS. Have you tried out blender? What tablet do you use?

wow, thanks for the tomes. I'll definitely go through them. it will help me structure my approach rather than mindlessly drawing. I used blender a little bit, but it not much sculpting. I know that anatomy is a fundamental key to drawing characters for design. I need to be really clean with my shapes and lines.
I have an old xp-pen display tablet. it's a bit small. and I have a non display wacom tablet that use for playing osu.
