slingshot improvement

This is a repetition of a formula/design I found out works. its chestnut core, plus g10 liners and walnut laminated.

I use gflex flexible glue, and some brass pins to keep it together. Will do 3 holes and thats about it.

This design involves using thumb grip, there is a thumb rest area near the fork, and is supposed to be held with the left hand. The only variations I did compared to the previous design is I expanded the grip section, will make bigger thumbrest. Slingshot will be bulkier as a result.

I am at 2nd layer. It takes 3 or 4 days to finish 1 slingshot with this process.

This wild cherry got some issue. But I think I can turn it into a baby slingshot.

I think this one got some fungi, but they dont seem to have done damage, not yet at least, maybe i treat it and make a baby slingshot, something small.

This is the first time I do it, basically I managed to spllice the slingshot in half, and I took a piece of walnut, and I impregnated it with some random wood petrifier using kitchenware to do it. will be the middle layer, hope is solid enough

This new one on th emakin is essentially a varition of the other desgn.

the same formula: chestnut + g10 + walnut with some variations so this time I added a lamination for a change. Just to see what happens.

This is almost finished. Its 3 layers of g10, it documents a test I was doing, I mean multiple tests. I picked a piece of trash wood some place, it had some mold on it, but for some reason the mold did not grow very deep, it was weathered and looked like total trash when I piked it. I thought since it was so porous, I wuld have tried to impregnate it with red iron oxide and oils. And I did the right call, it ended up OK, very good impregnation, the piece got heavier.

Just in case I added triple layer reinforcement, in case the plan didnt work as envisioned. But the plan worked. So this became a baby slingshot probably overbuilt but the end result is aesthetically pleasing even if im not 100% happy with the design. It sure is ergonomic tho.
