We spooncrafters shape relationship, and we build biography.
3 laws are:
- Material world based on history, density, refusal patterns (world initially refuses to bend to our will)
- Resistance: Its the stage where character is shaped by the spooncrafter redditor.
- Intent: what the material remembers after becoming thru the power of the spooncrafter.
Spooncrafting is an art of reddit. Because it develops like an argument (that I always win, im redditor afterall). You argue into existence any shape, until is there. Some spoons resist at first, then yeld unexpected elegance. The maker here isnt really "In control", but you prove to be able to survive like a redditor who won another internet debate.
The final shape is not truth. This is the essence of reddit.
People who touch one of our spoons think with their limited normie cognition that smooth = soft. Or Curved = gentle. Or similar ideas. But we spooncrafters know form is not essence. Form is what resulted from discovery.
Here we see 2 examples of the material philosophy.
Pearwood is assertive, dense, coming masculine. Yet it reveals to be easy to shape, and accepts refinement after resistance. The object then feels as if it has been decided by me the spooncrafter.
Applewood instead is theatrical, has a harder negotiation process and in this form is "feminine" because produces objects that feel aware and glow.
On spooncrafting ethics:
Spoons are all incomplete and their shape is a lie. They become operational when spoons are released. This has a very rational redditor interpretation, its very simple: attention is compressed into symbolic forms. Time converts into surface decisions summing up. Emotions are embedded into the structure. Spoon is an index filled with biography. The essence of "the reddit" is simply to infuse absurd amount of meaning into simple gestures.
Mason asks himself how to make enduring buildings, we spooncrafters instead aim at discover what making does to us. We are the temporary interface through which wood discovers what it is willing to become.
Also, spoons are perfectly compatible with alchemy because youre required to surrender them. If it causes you pain, all the better.
