It seems like certain people are destined to do certain things and if not it throws off the balance of the universe

Free will doesn’t make sense. The bp was my first realization that it didnt exist. But free will would assume I can change my own will, but it’s dictated by something, therefore it’s not free. I already made a thread on it, but it’s kind of depressing. We’re basically prisoners in our own bodies, and everything is dictated by genetics and environment.

I cant define it because i dont believe it exists. Maybe i’m wrong, but there is no reasoning for free will. If I were to change my will, it’s not free since i’m using pre-existing values that were already determined to change it.

Do you think the ability to choose exists?

Let me reiterate, i believe in compatibilism rather than hard determinism. So yes, i do believe we have choices, but the choices are still determined based on environment and genetics.
