When all thinking stops you die.

"I think therefore I am".

It is only when there is thought that there is suffering. It is only when there is thought centrated around the illusory actor called 'ego', designed to appropriate experience, when there arises suffering.

Physical death is just a thermodynamic process. True death is when all thinking stops, there is no more thinking, it is when all identity stops.

Do you want to die?

Annihilate your damn default network mode. Watch how the body functions without needing that thing called 'I', and the best thing? It works more efficiently since 'I' is not getting in the way of life.

I feel like it's pointless to think about death or the afterlife when you're still alive and have a life to live for.
They say that if you want to kill yourself, just surrender to life and let the universe take control of the body. Not like you had any to start with. It is the suicide of the ego, they call it.

"All kinds of things happened to me — I went through that, you see. The physical pain was unbearable — that is why I say you really don't want this. I wish I could give you a glimpse of it, a touch of it — then you wouldn't want to touch this at all. What you are pursuing doesn't exist; it is a myth. You wouldn't want anything to do with this."
