News [URGENT] ISIS comeback: ISIS militants have just captured the strategic West African city of Ménaka (Mali)

Islamic State in the Sahel Province (ISSP) militants took control of the town of Ménaka, the capital of the Ménaka Region, eastern Mali.

The city is isolated from other Malian strongholds along the Niger River and withdrawal would leave them exposed to ISSP ambushes so the Malian and Russian garrison barricaded inside the former MINUSMA camp outside of the city, like they did in Kidal a few days ago.
