you're getting it in some butcher-processed form. cubes, slices, ground, steak. It's not like you're gonna boil a head and have the veal stare at you which would be disgusting even if it was squash that just looked like it had eyes.

I do believe animals are sentient beings. A piglet is probably smarter than a larval huiman until about 5 or 6 years of age.
