Probably because the average person is retarded and bad at epistemology. Intelligent rational people will converge on whatever the truth is because there's only one objective reality. But most people base their beliefs on whatever their in-group believes, whatever authority tells them, and whatever they personally want to be true. For example, religion. Most people only believe the religion they believe because they happened to be born into it. For things that require abstract thinking to understand, midwits and low IQ people lack the abstract thinking required to internalize them. For example, if you try to explain the concept of a bell curve distribution to a midwit, their response will often be something like "But what about this outlier?" as if that proves anything. Another factor is old people disagree with young people because of differences in neuroplasticity. Old people's brains are physically incapable of updating their beliefs anymore and learning anything new, which is why boomers are the way they are.

Nice to see someone else interested in philosophy.

Another factor is that normie "arguments" boil down to social status rather than facts. Imagine someone is arguing with a normie, but he gets labelled a "bad person". In the mind of a normie, the normie "won" the debate because he's a "good person" and the non-normie isn't, even if the non-normie's arguments and logic are solid. That's just how normies are. Their minds have a consensus filter built into them. They don't think "Is this true?". They think "Is this socially acceptable to believe?". If the answer is no, no amount of facts and logic will convince them. In general, the more reliant on the herd they are for their survival, the less rational they are. The only people who can see reality for what it is are people with a weak consensus filter, like autists and ultra-high testosterone men. Women in particular are essentially incapable of going against the group. This is why it's pretty much impossible to talk about things like HBD or female nature with normies. They will just think "oh you're a racist" or "oh you're an incel" or "oh you're a Nazi" and that's the end of the conversation. In order to get normies to accept inconvenient truths, they need to become too painful to ignore. For example, the White people who bitch the most about things like racism tend to be people in rich suburbs with hardly any brown people. But when these things start to affect them personally and they can't ignore them anymore, then the conditioning will start to break.
