I did not like my mother(black). She was not proud of her ethnicity at all and would worry about me "looking black" and didnt let me outside so I wouldnt get tanned.

As for Asian mother I have more to say...
You might deal with the dragon/tiger Mom it’s aggressive and high pressure, but it’s designed to prep you for a brutal reality. If you're the son, you might get pampered; if you're the daughter, you might deal with a specific brand of narcissistic control that’s common in woman. Best case, you’re successful but cold; worst case, you end up with a deep-seated resentment toward the feminine.

No he left my mom when I was 2, so I guess they had arguments and fights. He initiated the divorce. But now has a second wife and new family.
