I think is hard to regulate grifters, because they are offering something to the dysgenic normies: meaning, sense of purpose or a perceived sense of herd mentality.
So we cannot rule against these things, but we can instead ask someone who has demonstrated influence to source his claims.
In my country (italy) we suffered the oppression of an intellectual grifter called Diego Fusaro, he came on stage promoted by mass media and he started to grift, fuck over, scam, thieve ideas of others more intelligent than he was. He robbed the entire philosophy of a second intellectual named Costanzo Preve, but he repackaged it for mass consumption and he promoted it on social media.
There was an article on micromega titled "what did we do to deserve to be grifted by diego fusaro" where people investigated the moral failure of our country, and asked "do we really deserve to be treated like this?" The article has over 600 comments, I also commented and at the time I was sayin "Yes we deserve it". Because I thought we could have prevented the grift. Or at least teach better to young people, so they do it like me and hate grifters instead of supporting them.
Initially we thought this grifting was positive, because it introduces lower level normies to the concepts treated by the grifter, so we presumed the normies would have done their research and would have opened philosophy books. It never happened, after 10 years we discovered no normie evolved the opinions past what was given to them by the grifter.
Our assumption was: normies are being introduced, this is positive, they will read on their own now. The grifter awakened an interest in philosophy.
In reality it was this: the grifter gave them easy answers, the grifters avoided to mention the source of his ideas. The grifter captured normie attention and made it appear as if he is the source of all ideas. The normies were tunneled, and they generated the expectation the grifter was the source, they received info from the grifter.
What can we do to fix it? Is it true nothing can be done? Is it true we are forced to be grifted over and over? I say NO, its not true. We can FORCE the grifter to put sources. He can be free to say what he wants, but he has to source his claims whatever they are. If you are presenting an idea as important, tell people where it came from, so they can notice you are not "the source" and they can learn to find their own source for it.
We can do it only if we have "a state", because a state exists to protect us FROM grifters, not to give them a platform. What other ideas can we approach to fight grifters?
