I gave myself a haircut at home and I rarely felt more satisfied with my hair even tho it's assymetric and amateurish
Hairdressers obsess with fashion, symmetry and muh fresh new look, muh fade
I often had a moment when I wanted to stop the nigga from cutting anymore because I thought it already looked good
but nah I had this inner dialogue "He knows what he's doing, surely he's better than me. Let him finish and let's see final version"

I noticed their craft is meant to give your looks a short term boost and then it falls off often in a week you look boring and worse than before cutting your hair (possibly by design)
For finish they want to use hair gel to make your hair stand up and make it feel like shit to the touch
Also they leave you all itchy with the shaved parts of hairs getting everywhere on your clothes and prickling your body this is super uncomfortable

Imo you should never cut your hair as short as they do it for wagecucks but it's best to find a balance when you don't really need to take care of your hair but can maintain your identity
Grow out your hair and cut it from the side and the back, don't use clippers only scissors

Some people have genetically hard or ugly hair that look terrible when grown out and they are forced to keep it very short
Some do it out of insecurity and programming from the parents like I was forced to
