Thoughts / My Experiences
So I have a lot of history with MMORPGs in general.
Lately I've been quite into World of Warcraft, though as of the past week I've tapered off a little bit. I will always love Old School RuneScape, though, and that might be the one that truly got me to appreciate the MMORPG genre.
I've tried getting into MapleStory with little success. I might try again at some point as I still have it installed. Or maybe I'll try MapleStory Classic World when they finally release that.
I do, however, have a long history with social MMOs. Habbo Hotel, Roblox, stuff like that.
Habbo AU was the game that got me into MMOs and online gaming in general. Maybe even PC gaming, but I'd say that credit deserves to go to The Sims - specifically The Sims Unleashed expansion pack as that was my first experience ever with PC gaming, back in about 2004 or so. Unless you count Flash games, I guess.​

In regards to Habbo Hotel, though - my old friend from my childhood got me into it. We were talking on an excursion and she mentioned Habbo Hotel. I was curious and asked about it, and she explained it to me. I thought it sounded fun so she told me to make an account when we got home from the trip.
I did and the rest is history. I often stayed up all night playing, would neglect homework to play, would even stop eating in order to play. I got so mad whenever someone tried trolling me on there or something didn't go my way when attempting to get a rare, limited-time badge.
I even got into autotypers and autoclickers to get certain achievements.
I also scammed thousands of dollars worth of Furni and Credits with a fake phishing website I set up. I eventually gave up Black Hat hacking because it was too risky at the time, and I knew the consequences, despite being around 11 years old.

But yeah, those are my experiences and memories.​

I did play some maple but never got hooked.
I played so much classic Diablo 2 it's not even funny from my middle school days till the end of highschool.

I played tons of Iruna Online since my family didn't have a PC. It was a wonderful game and I occasionally play Toram. Good times, great games. I've always wanted to test out Maplestory but I hear a lot of horror stories of the game.

Toram. Now that's a name I haven't heard in a while.
I played it on Steam (never mobile, though) for like a day, and I met some random Malaysian chick on there that added me on Steam. She hasn't been online in about a year or two though. Hope she's okay.

 

[Trilogy]

I used to play SWTOR (Star Wars: The Old Republic) all the time, it was very fun. I really wish that another Star Wars-themed MMO would be made, since Star Wars is like the perfect setting for that type of game. I doubt it will ever happen though unfortunately
