I sometimes feed the magpies in my neighbourhood.
Feeding wild animals constantly is really, really bad because they grow reliant on you and forget how to hunt efficiently. But the occasional treat is good. Birdbaths are completely fine, though.
However, feeding strays isn't an issue. Like, if it's a stray dog or a stray cat or some other stray domestic animal, I see no issues. I honestly think it's admirable to feed stray domestic animals.
Every dog and cat deserves a good home. Unfortunately though, this is the real world and that doesn't happen.
