I do wonder why normies refrain from using crypto for funding.
Some say it is because of price volatility, but stablecoins are there to be used.
Then you have private coins, such as monero, where governments cant trace your spendings.
Remember the case of the canadian truckers? That could have been avoided if they used monero, but they didn't, and many people had their bank accounts locked, because they gave money to the truckers.

isnt it on the person giving up money to figure it out to be a scam or not? is this basically a consumer issue.

like people are just giving money to have validation that they did something they think is good, its just self gratifying. the smaller plate form makes it feel personal like you helpped some one but you really didnt do much.
