Before civilization people were not expendable. They mattered. There was a social stratification, but the elders loved those beneath them. With civilization, the lower class surronder their freedom for security and shelter and food. They dont even know the elders who make the rules and laws. Indeed, retirement is the worst thing to ever happen to western culture. You put your head down and work 30 years for maybe 10-30 years of retirement, but sadly the culture and way of life you wanted has already decayed, and you wonder what you were working for to begin with.Furthermore, civilization is all about bureaucracy. Laws and rules that sometimes have hidden cracks that individuals fall into, yet are expendable. For 99% it offers security as long as they are politically correct. So you surronder to group think and lose more of your individuality at the cost of your soul.
