Most of the Chinese and Vietnamese I know here fled communism and hate it, except for a small minority of their edgy children who couldn't quite fit in and so fell back on a false idealization of communism as a crutch, attempting to incorporate it into their identity. Making it all the more curious is that many of these younger 3rd or 4th gen wannabee Maoists all live a life of luxury, with full trust funds provided to them by their wealthy parents. None of them need to work, so they spend their time larping as champagne leftists, so they can pretend to be victims rather than the elites they actually are.
