Discussion I never really bought the whole Christianity thing

I was raised Protestant as a kid but just never really bought the whole idea of an Abrahamic God. It probs started with the whole story of creation taught to us and then my love for dinosaurs, which I found inherently contradictory. & once you hear "the bible isn't mean't to be taken literally" in order to make room for T-rex & evolution, you don't really "have faith," in the same way or believe in heaven & hell and all of that. I mean do most kids really believe in miracles and the supernatural? I think in the back of their heads many just don't & that was me.

This isn't a criticism of christianity or the bible I quite like both & think they benefit society/have good lessons. Just a matter of belief.

Its clear that we are aint shit niggers and god doesnt really care what you do or dont believe and lets alot of bullshit happen in his name. I believe Jesus may have been on some real shit. Clearly not god because he actually gave a fuck about people here. He was someone from gods realm perhaps. His movement was likely fed to lions because he was tired of these aint shit niggers blowing up his phone.

So basically I believe Christianity is an important religion but God would not allow a true religion to exist.
Religion in this world is not intended to be our exit strategy to life or history book IMO. Its to get a basic understanding what is divine not by just agreeing which what people say but by practice.

Lol at beliving evolution and not supernatural when everyone can go to an haunted house
Evolution doesn't presuppose materialism and atheism doesn't even presuppose evolution to begin with, then also determinism doesn't even presuppose atheism btw. Even if you're a flat young earther it's more logical for you to be an atheist. And even if you believe in Kikebrahamic god then you should logically be determinist (anyone with a brain sees that compatibilism is oxymoronical by it's definition). Materialism is not true and will never be proven.

It's like a detective looking at a crime scene, of course he can't actually see what happened, but he figures it out based on the clues left around, except in this case (evolution) the evidence is all around, everywhere of innumerable quantity and quality. Feelsbad dudebros are skeptical of evolution and I know skepticism is a gutsy thing to do to begin with, but you shouldn't be selective with it whatsoever and extend it to all that you can, which is what science is by definition. The most tragic irony, for me, is that evolution is actually the most 'thumos' and Nietzschean whatever you want to call it, way to believe that we came about, I mean for sure anyway since, rejecting the billions of years of suffering is innately a huge opiate and sedative mechanism. "No, we all exist here as unicorns and flowers and butterflies just magically popping in". I believe that you'd get this for sure if you played Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and thought about it deeply, as I have.

newsincerity @newsincerity Do respond what you found you can 'challenge' in my post since maybe I hadn't made it clear enough I hold an aesthetic and subjective preference to evolution, rather than saying I saw it happen, which I did not.

this wouldn't be quite a logical statement to make, claiming that all these people in history didn't actually believe in it and were just faking it.
