It's just a way of asking someone to not let their misery go to waste, and instead make someone else profit off of your misery.
9/10 times the people peddling this advice are not looking forward to help you in a pragmatic sense.
They just wish you stay where you are and are gaslit into thinking your situation is normal.
Not a fan of capitalism, but it's not surprising that psychology is one of the most poorly paid degrees out there.
