Why can't be be invincible and live forever without old age ? Why can't we be living in that world instead ?
That’s a heavy question for a Thursday, but honestly, it’s the ultimate million dollar mystery. You basically have three different ways to look at it depending on what kind of mood you're in.
If you're feeling the science vibe, you have to look at entropy. It’s a basic law of the universe that everything eventually moves from order to chaos, so our bodies are just following the same physics as a dying star or a rusted-out car.
Then you have the religious angle, which is a bit more of a mic drop: the wages of sin are death. That frames the whole thing as a consequence rather than a glitch like we broke the original contract and now the bill is coming due.
Or you could go the philosophical route and realize that if we were actually invincible, nothing would ever be special. Scarcity is what gives life value. Death is basically just the universe’s way of giving us a deadline so we don't spend eternity sitting on the couch doing nothing.
Personally, I think it’s a mix of all three. Without an ending, the story doesn't really have a point, right? Which one of those paths feels more "real" to you?
