recently i had a conversation with a "friend" who argued that our QoL is the best that it's ever been, that immigration is a nonissue and, since it supports economic growth, should be treated as objectively good. economic growth is the "nicest" indicator that we have for happiness... that things are better now than in the 70s-90s, from the days where there were red rattler trains lined with asbestos, white children running around in sunsuits, loose flyscreens and unguents your only concern for the summer...
yes, we have more purchasing power... alright, the cost of living isn't great, but we have more material amenities than ever... wait, what do you mean that we might be subject to danger from subversive interest groups? that can't be, we reign under a civic ideal, you will have the same priorities as i do -- depoliticization is good, chuddie...
that's just oversocialization, you retard. when you find yourself in the habit of applying moral judgements to nonmoral issues, you're in trouble. you aren't really concerned for the worst-off, you're simply trying to shill this notion that all people should fit into the well-oiled system, and it's incumbent upon you to be happy when you're part of the aristocratic crust of firstworlders. are you still dissatisfied? pursue a surrogate activity, faggot -- just lie back and think of Goyland...
we equate urban development and "keeping in step" with the natural world with the construction of parkways, the entire circuit of urban planning resting on that uncompromising principle that the one common beech overshadows the grease-impregnated SEAs quarter. the small-scale community has been abolished, certainly, and those other parties underhandedly promoting atomization are the sorts who see it to be no foul task... but they don't speak from the position of a white familyman who finds that his neighborhood has been overrun by nonverbal curries -- because curries love their parents, love the feeling of being bullwhipped for speaking out of turn, masochistic fucks...
