I'm a good three weeks now into my winter vacation away from work and it has dawned on me that staying inside your apartment or house is being free. Outside is slavery. Outside you have to abide by the laws, rights and ways of the roads and highways, public and private spaces, the regulations and expectations of society that are imposed on us. But inside, isolated from other people, no one cares you're rotting on your couch or in your bed. No one cares you're playing video games, cooking your favorite foods and enjoying doing nothing of importance. Lively independently as a NEET is the ultimate emancipation.
