finding it promotes prosocial behaviour and an increase in your QoL, though only if you find someone who shares the same delusion. only then can you yield any meaningful outcomes from it. unfortunately though, romanticism is dead. love is a mere formality with the end-goal of producing children. its current pathos in modern culture is inherited from popular media, like romcoms and the like

I find love is a humorously obfuscating, overly broad word mostly due to all the cultural influences… romcoms, poems etc.

It should be called bonding or courtship… even intimacy is a better term.

Sometimes I have seen many dreams shatter, die, fall silent because of falling in love, because of a relationship with a girl. Your dream girl doesn't exist and love is sadly sparse. Sooner you get that 1950s virgin bride idea out your head the better as if you didn't date her when you were a teen she ain't gonna be pure and not have some form of baggage. Mind you, I've known guys who have found le virgin gf but always they seem to be extremely mid looking and have some extreme mental problems that I do not know if its even worth the trouble.

Well, earlier ages there were communities and families were more close to each other, so at least people cared about each other a bit since those times people had to depend on each other but now, everyone is on their own they don't need anyone

It is worth to fall in love with the RIGHT girl. LTRing with the right girl can bring you treasures and memories beyond your greatest beliefs. The question is if you can find the right girl or not. On the other hand, falling in love with the wrong girl can litearlly ruin your life, whether you be left heartbroken or end up in a dead bedroom cucked relationship where you get divorced and lose half of you assets + the house + the kids.

Not possible tbh, unless you strictly redefine love and any words synonymous with it over the course of your relationship thus you can cope with fading attraction and progress into seeing that girl as a life partner……. just because of your past circumstances, you may as well stick together, and feel emotions and some sense of bond or purpose.

In the past marriage was actually strategical because it was very transactional, it was not based on fleeting love but rather social status, money, kids, it was a bond that people did to progress. The man or woman would tolerate bs and cheating because they were never really in it for love as we see it today.

Im not sure what you define by love, but i just see it as a two point criteria
1. Attraction for the girl (phsyical)
2. Seeing her as a close friend, sharing similar hobbies, easy to talk to etc

True love or what most normal people think of live is kinda fake, its just another word for attraction thats streched out and romantasized by the media.
